Alice Landry

Alice Landry is a contemporary artist exploring whimsical ceramic forms. Texture, narrative, and globalism are themes reflected in her works.

Born in New York, Alice grew up in Connecticut and attended Springfield College studying Liberal Arts with a focus in Business. She has taught art for over twenty years in Massachusetts, North Carolina, and Florida. She believes that artwork should not be prescribed, but student-driven, enticing students to think, process, and experience the world differently.

Before becoming a public school teacher, Alice worked at the Brevard Cultural Alliance as the Arts Educator Coordinator supervising 11 schools in the district. During Alice’s 15 year tenure as an art teacher with Orange County Public Schools, she participated in the Winter Park Art Festival and her students won the OUC Water Conservation Rain Barrel painting contest five years in a row.

When Alice is not in an art studio, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, and dogs Logan and Bella.

Sabrina Roopnarine

Sabrina Roopnarine is a contemporary artist exploring line and color through acrylic, printmaking, and mixed media. Taking inspiration from an array of cultures, she blends patterns, vibrant colors, and drawings to examine the narratives that surround us. World history, femininity, and pop culture are some of the themes that shape her artwork.

Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Sabrina spent her childhood in Queens, New York before moving to Orlando, FL where she has spent the past eighteen years as an Art Educator for Orange County Public Schools. During her time with OCPS, Sabrina has taught art classes at Eccleston Elementary School and Lake Nona High School. Sabrina’s students have participated in the Orlando Museum of Art: Peggy Crosby Student Gallery, Maitland Art Festival, Winter Park Art Festival, the OUC Rain barrel Painting contest, and the Scholastic Art Silver Key Awards. Her love of teaching is based on the idea that all students should have “authentic art experiences” while exploring materials, ideas, and art history.

Sabrina earned a Bachelor of Science in Art Education from the University of Central Florida and attended the Edinburgh College of Art where she focused on printmaking techniques. Her most recent work has been displayed at the Orange County Art Educator’s Show at CityArts Factory and at the UCF 50th Anniversary Art Ed Student and Alumni Show.

When Sabrina is not in an art studio, she enjoys spending time with her daughters, traveling, and gardening.
